Ben Larson began his legal career in 2009, and since then, he has been dedicated to advocating for individuals navigating personal injury and wrongful death claims. Over the past decade, he increasingly represents people who are injured in trucking crashes, industrial incidents, and drunk driving crashes, including claims against taverns.
Ben recently recovered $2.25 million for a client who was injured in a complicated truck crash in Eastern Oregon. Trucking cases and industrial incidents present unique challenges, both in proving liability and helping victims who have suffered grievous injuries. These cases differ from normal car crash cases and require specialized knowledge to achieve a full measure of compensation.
Ben prides himself on taking a creative and collaborative approach to case development utilizing client feedback to craft tailored legal strategies. He also prides himself on effective and thorough client communication, providing regular updates and clear explanations of case milestones and potential outcomes. Most injury victims have never been involved in a lawsuit so extra time and repetitive explanation is often necessary for people to have enough information to make the correct decision. Lack of communication is one of the top complaints the state bars receive every year. Lack of communication is extremely frustrating, especially when a client doesn’t feel comfortable initiating the correspondence. Ben uses a proactive approach, reaching out to clients frequently, even when there’s nothing happening. Ben also uses an “open door” approach, encouraging phone calls, emails, or meetings. Often times are there are long delays in a case, but clients aren’t aware of them and need assurances that the case is moving forward. He is a member of the Oregon Bar Association, Oregon Trial Lawyers Association and is admitted to practice in Federal Court. Ben earned his Jurist Doctorate from the University of Oregon School of Law and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, also from the University of Oregon. His time studying abroad in Israel and Spain broadened his perspective, influencing his empathetic approach to client representation. Having grown up in Portland, Ben deeply appreciates the Oregon community. He has served on local boards and frequently represents people pro bono. In his free time, he enjoys exploring the state’s natural beauty through ski touring, biking, camping, and climbing. His passion for overcoming challenges in the outdoors mirrors his commitment to finding innovative solutions for his clients’ legal challenges. Most importantly, he’s a proud father of a young daughter.
